We are seeking a highly skilled Demi Pastry Chef to join our team at The Star Sydney. As a key member of our pastry kitchen, you will be responsible for executing flawless product quality while maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

">
  • Support or lead the assigned section as directed by the Pastry Sous Chef and provide training to junior staff members.
  • Assist with fundamental cooking and food preparation tasks.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations.
  • Complete all duties in line with company and statutory hygiene requirements.
  • Meet requirements for consistency and high quality in a fast-paced environment.

Your Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Culinary School Graduate with received apprenticeship training in Pastry.
  • Proficiency with diverse food preparation techniques and cooking equipment.
  • 2 years of experience post-apprenticeship in food preparation, preferably in a café, hotel, or high-volume setting, with strong communication skills and understanding of relevant liquor laws.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
