Pier One Sydney Harbour, a five-star hotel located under the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, is seeking an Executive Pastry Chef to join its team. With 189 premium rooms and suites, this luxurious hotel offers a truly unique experience on the vibrant heritage waterfront pier.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Pastry Chef to lead our pastry kitchen operations. As an Executive Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for managing daily production needs, estimating ingredients, and communicating with kitchen personnel. You will also assist the Head and Sous Chefs with all kitchen operations and preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage pastry kitchen operations and ensure compliance with Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Estimate daily production needs and communicate with kitchen personnel.
  • Assist Head and Sous Chef with kitchen operations and preparation.
  • Prepare and cook pastry dishes, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
  • Develop, design, or create new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including artistic contributions.
  • Maintain purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards.
  • Train employees in safety procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Trade Industry Qualification or completion of Commercial Cookery Qualification.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Working rights in Australia.
  • An enthusiastic and motivated attitude, with a can-do approach.
