This is an exciting opportunity to join Energy Queensland as a Senior Safety Advisor in the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) group. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering safety-related projects and initiatives to support business performance.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement safety strategies, processes, and practices to ensure a safe working environment for employees, customers, and communities.
- Collaborate with management and industrial partners to influence safety-related process outcomes and manage projects.
- Support HSE contractor management processes, including onboarding contractors and evaluating contract management systems.
- Act as a safety subject matter expert (SME) to leaders and key stakeholders, providing guidance and support on safety-related matters.
- Travel intrastate and interstate, as required, to support projects and initiatives.
- Relevant degree qualification in Health, Safety and Environment or Project Management (or related discipline/demonstrable experience).
- Strong working knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, Codes of Practice, and Australian Standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work autonomously and self-motivate.
- Ability to apply critical thought when assessing situations and hold experience in using HSE management systems.
- Ability to use and leverage new technology to support safety-related initiatives.
