Key Roles and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled Mine Engineer to oversee the technical aspects of drill and blast operations. As a Senior Mine Engineer, you will be responsible for developing short-term plans that align with medium-term directions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing short to medium term planning horizons that utilize resources efficiently, identify risks clearly, and create a clear path for high standard operational performance and success.
  • Contributing to the development and review of resource allocations and budgets (people and equipment) to ensure they reflect business drivers and intent.
  • Designing and reviewing all aspects of Drill and Blast design including hole layouts, charging instructions, timing and post-blast analysis.
  • Conducting regular reviews and documenting results.
  • Reconciling daily performance of Drill and Blast, Load and Haul and Crushing to ensure alignment to Plan and defining actions to recover variances to plan.
  • Optimizing Pit Designs, Dump Designs, Stockpile Designs and Haul paths in line with the Short-Term Plan and Atlas standards to maximise recovery of Ore and minimise cost per unit tonne delivered to ROM.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Substantial experience as a Mine Engineer is essential. Relevant academic qualification in Mine Engineering is also required.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, demonstrated understanding of mine planning cycles and activities, practical skills and knowledge in drill and blast design, pit optimisation and infrastructure design.

A WA C class drivers licence or national equivalent is also a requirement.
