The Role:
  • Mine design and scheduling form a key part of our operations, requiring careful planning and execution.
  • Financial evaluations and cost modelling are essential for making informed decisions about our mining projects.
  • Operational support involves providing short, medium and long term designs to ensure the continued success of our mine.
  • We also provide assistance with training junior planning and production engineers, helping them to develop their skills and expertise.
  • Our experienced team works together to complete existing mine projects and new mine evaluations, ensuring that we have a thorough understanding of our mining operations.
  • Vent modelling is used for short- and medium-term planning, allowing us to make informed decisions about our mining activities.
  • Studying new mine and existing mine development is an important part of our work, enabling us to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Assisting with reserve process is crucial for maintaining accurate records of our mining operations.
  • Effective report writing is also essential, allowing us to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Corporate modelling and future M&A activity require close collaboration between our team members, ensuring that we have a thorough understanding of our mining operations and can make informed decisions about our future.
Your Key Responsibilities:
  • You will need a tertiary qualification in Engineering (mining) to be successful in this role.
  • Significant experience in underground mining operations is essential, as is proficiency in all Deswik applications.
  • A First Class Mine Managers Certificate is desirable, but not essential.
  • Mine Planning Experience is essential for this role, as is the ability to attend site to support operations as required.
  • Strong MS Office Software experience, including Excel and Word, is also essential.
