
Child Protection Specialist

As an experienced professional in child protection, your role is to receive and assess reports of alleged abuse and neglect of children and young people. You will undertake thorough investigations and develop comprehensive plans to ensure safety, stability, and development of children and young people, promoting the achievement of case plan objectives within specified timeframes.
Key Responsibilities:- Risk assessment and analysis: effectively work with complex cases, providing guidance and support to colleagues to understand and apply relevant frameworks.
- Case planning review and case management: coordinate and lead planning, review, and management of own casework, ensuring effective outcomes.
- Critical inquiry: use outcomes from critical inquiry to enhance existing knowledge and skills, supporting and advising others to apply evidence-based frameworks to resolve issues.
- The role involves transportation of children; therefore, a valid driver's license and willingness to travel are essential. There may be a requirement to work overnight and travel in evenings and early mornings. Additional hours may be required to ensure the wellbeing of children.
- Understanding of Aboriginal culture and knowledge of legislative, policy, and practice requirements relating to Aboriginal children, families, and communities, including the Aboriginal Child Placement Principle and related programs.
