Job Overview

Protecting Children and Families

This role involves working collaboratively with a team to strengthen case practice, provide effective service delivery and support practitioners in developing plans to ensure the safety, stability and development of children and young people.

You will supervise team members in daily tasks through a structured and supportive learning program. This position will hold a caseload commensurate with supervisory responsibilities.

A valid driver's license and willingness to travel are essential requirements for this role, which may involve transporting children and working overnight or during early mornings on occasion.

Accountabilities
  • Lead Case Planning: Provide expert advice and guidance on case planning review and management; identify areas requiring improvement and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Risk Management: Further develop and coach others in risk assessment and analysis skills to enhance their ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Critical Inquiry: Lead the planning, review and management of critical cases in line with best practice principles and legislative requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

This role requires a strong understanding of social justice and an appreciation for the complexities of family relationships. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Professional qualifications and certifications related to child protection and case management are highly desirable.

Additional Requirements

Applicants must be Australian citizens, permanent residents or possess a valid work permit or visa. Successful applicants will be required to undergo pre-employment screening, including a national police check and misconduct screening.
