Senior Child Protection Specialist

This role necessitates a profound sense of social justice and an understanding that families are complex, with their own unique histories.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with the Team Manager to strengthen case practice, provide effective service delivery, and support other practitioners in developing plans to ensure the safety, stability, and development of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:- Risk assessment and analysis: Develops and coaches others in understanding risk assessment and analysis, which is critical for making informed decisions about child protection.
- Case planning review and case management: Provides case planning advice, guidance, and support; directly supports and inputs into cases with unacceptable risk to the child, ensuring timely interventions.
- Critical inquiry: Leads planning, review, and management of issues in line with best practice principles and legislative requirements, maintaining a high level of professionalism at all times.
The successful candidate will possess an understanding of Aboriginal culture and demonstrate knowledge of legislative, policy, and practice requirements relating to Aboriginal children, families, and communities, showcasing empathy and cultural awareness.
