Key Opportunity in Student Protection

We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Policy Officer to join our Internal Reviews team.

About the Team

The Internal Reviews team is responsible for managing child death and serious injuries reviews under the Child Protection Act 1999. We work closely with government agencies, school and regional staff to ensure timely completion of reviews according to guidelines.

About the Role

The Principal Policy Officer will manage multiple child death or serious injury reviews. Key responsibilities include gathering information, analysing data, drafting reports and conducting sensitive consultations with school and regional staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and critically analyse complex information;
  • Ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with staff and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to sensitively manage interactions with school and regional staff;
  • Knowledge of applicable child protection and education legislation, policies and procedures.
