Telecommunications Officer Job Description

The Department of Education, Western Australia seeks a Telecommunications Officer to coordinate the provision of data services and inspect new and refurbished buildings in schools. The ideal candidate will have technical knowledge of industry standards, network infrastructure, and experience in providing telecommunications data services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate the provision of data services for the department and its customers.
  • Inspect and assess new and refurbished buildings in schools.
  • Provide detailed reports on the impact of relocation on data communications.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide installation of data services.

The successful applicant will have sound technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of industry standards, network infrastructure, and experience in providing telecommunications data services.
  • Sound oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound written communication skills, including experience in preparing detailed reports.
  • Sound research, conceptual, and analytical skills, together with the ability to provide innovative solutions to problems and issues.
  • Sound coordination and organizational skills and understanding of project management methodology.
