Operations Manager

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and develop an operational team, driving profitable, safe, and environmentally responsible operations while maintaining regulatory compliance and sustainable business practices.

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational management of the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) facility and transfer station.
  • Lead the development of the operational team through effective training, communication, and implementation of safe work practices.
  • Oversee all aspects of waste handling processes, including planning, infrastructure, operations, environment, equipment, and administration.
  • Conduct risk assessments, participate in technical workshops, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Support business development by providing strategic technical input for tenders and new opportunities.
Key Requirements:
  • Certificate III in Business Administration and Waste Management, or over 5 years experience in waste management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant environmental legislation and familiarisation with EPA Victoria requirements.
  • Proven leadership skills – with experience managing operational staff.
  • Strong communication skills – able to distil and convey complex information in a concise manner.
