
Child Protection Team Leader

Key Responsibilities
The Child Protection Team Leader is accountable for the effective management and delivery of services. This includes overseeing resources, managing budgets, and coordinating case allocations for small teams of practitioners. The role requires the ability to endorse and review case plans to ensure the safety, stability, and development of children and young people.
The position involves collaboration with Senior Practitioners to enhance case practice, provide service excellence, and support other team members. Transportation of children is a requirement, necessitating a valid driver's license and willingness to travel, including regional areas. Occasional overnight work, evening, and early morning travel may be necessary to ensure child wellbeing.
A deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and legislative requirements, policy, and practice relating to Aboriginal children, families, and communities is essential. This includes knowledge of the Aboriginal Child Placement Principle and programs supporting its implementation in child protection practice.
