Operations Director Role

This is a permanent position for the Operations Director at a leading events company in Melbourne, VIC.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the events industry and be able to manage warehouse, transport, and marquee divisions efficiently. They will be responsible for leading internal operations teams and external suppliers to meet supply chain KPI's, including stock control, dispatch, decor, hospitality, marquee, custom and maintenance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Warehouse Management:
    • Manage and clear reporting of all divisions within the Warehouse to meet time, quality, budget, safety KPI's
    • Ultimate responsibility for rostering and management of staffing levels
  • Transport/Logistics:
    • Monitoring compliance processes and clear reporting with Transport to meet KPI's - time, quality, budget, safety
  • Stock Control:
    • Develop efficient processes and clear reporting with Stock Controller to meet KPI's - quantity and quality, safety
  • Occupation Health, Safety and Welfare:
    • Implement, manage and update all safety procedures
  • Warehouse + Logistics Team Leadership:
    • Clear and up-to-date reporting in Employment Hero
    • Ultimate responsibility for staff recruitment and retention in Warehouse + Logistics
  • Key Relationship Management:
    • Develop clear communication channels and reporting between Sales, Creative, Accounts and external suppliers

The ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge of supply chain roles and responsibilities, experience in using administration, management and reporting documents/tools, and the ability to manage a wide variety of team members, their tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

They will also be able to troubleshoot all operational issues, work under pressure, and be a problem solver. A positive, honest & ethical attitude is required as well as flexible working hours (including weekends and public holidays).
