Legal Expertise Opportunity

This is a mid-senior level legal role that involves providing advice and support on all aspects of a key strategic partnership, with a focus on data privacy, competition, and consumer law, as well as commercial and corporate law. As a Legal Counsel in this part-time opportunity, you will play a big role in ensuring that the company's arrangements with customers and suppliers are properly documented, taking into account all key areas of legal risk.



Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work closely with the whole Legal team, as well as Compliance and other key business partners and stakeholders. Key responsibilities will include advising on all legal aspects of a key strategic partnership for the organisation, drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of new and existing customer contracts, including online standard terms, master services agreements, confidentiality agreements, IT agreements, licence agreements, consultancy agreements, alliance, agency and joint venture agreements.



Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience as a commercial lawyer, with experience in financial services.
  • Must have prior in-house experience with a major corporation, and/or reputable law firm experience.
  • Extensive and proven experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiation of complex commercial contracts and ongoing contractual compliance monitoring.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Data Privacy, Competition and Consumer Law (preferably financial services law).
  • Ability to explain legal concepts in a commercial context.
  • Business focused individuals who appreciate and are able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with multiple competing priorities to juggle, the ability to interpret legal and contractual requirements and provide timely solutions-based legal risk advice, according to the needs of the business.

  • Previous experience in a Compliance role.
  • Self starter with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
