Workshop Operations Manager

As a Workshop Manager with Toll Transport Pty Ltd, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our workshops and the maintenance of our fleet of vehicles and equipment. You will be responsible for managing a team of technicians and mechanics, overseeing the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment, and ensuring that all work is performed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily activities of Toll employees and ensure that all work is performed safely and efficiently.
- Maintain staff job results by coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Demonstrate exemplary safety leadership behaviours and monitor and promote HSES & QA programs, to achieve a safe and incident-free culture.
- Control workflow for minimum vehicle downtime and maximum workshop output.
- Anticipate customer needs and identify opportunities to significantly enhance the breadth and quality of the service experience.
- Ensure established work systems are in place and people can work effectively as individuals and as a team to achieve the standards and results in line with best practice.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar transport, logistics, or related industry.
- Demonstrated ability working within a fast-paced environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous diagnostic investigation experience.
- Be a team player, open and honest who consistently delivers an exceptional customer service experience.
- Hold a flexible approach to business commitments.
- Ensure that all work is performed safely and that an ongoing commitment to safety is maintained including proactive actions to identify and reduce workplace hazards.
- Ability to build and maintain engaged and productive teams.
