Biochemical Synthesis Expert

We are seeking a skilled professional to contribute to the development of therapeutic biomolecules in our research programme.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in chemical synthesis, including solution-phase and solid-phase techniques, and experience with purification and characterisation. They will also have strong communication skills and be able to mentor postgraduate research students.
Key qualifications include a PhD in organic chemistry, ideally with a background in protein chemistry or chemical biology.
- Perform chemical synthesis of large biomolecules, including peptides, proteins and peptide nucleic acids (PNA).
- Apply solution-phase and solid-phase synthetic techniques, and carry out purification and characterisation.
- Mentor postgraduate research students in the group and contribute to the preparation of manuscripts arising from your work.
Synthetic Chemistry: Design, synthesise, and purify large biomolecules using solution-phase and solid-phase techniques.
Purification and Characterisation: Develop and apply methods for the purification and characterisation of biomolecules.
Mentoring: Mentor postgraduate research students in the group and assist in the preparation of manuscripts arising from their work.
