Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of services across campuses.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

">Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive support to the functional operations of facilities maintenance, ensuring the School assets and property are kept to a high standard.
  • Undertake general building maintenance work, including handyman tasks, as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Provide assistance with office moves, set up for events and functions, and furniture relocation.
  • Support contractors and service providers, assisting other trades staff as required.
  • Ensure safe work methods and good housekeeping practices are followed to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Perform minor maintenance and servicing of tools and equipment used in the performance of duties.
  • Conduct pre-use inspections and perform vehicle cleaning, washing, and minor maintenance to ensure vehicles and buggies are fit for purpose.
  • Dispose of redundant items as required, maintaining high presentation standards.
  • Ensure all documentation is promptly and accurately completed or maintained.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and provide recommendations to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety requirements and ability to work in compliance with WH&S provisions.
  • Ability to plan, organise, resolve problems, and prioritise work to meet strict deadlines.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and attention to detail with the ability to liaise with staff and clients at all levels.
  • Ability to act on initiative and address unexpected problems.
  • Willingness to take personal responsibility for the standard of work carried out.
  • Ability to undertake any training relevant to the role.
Additional Requirements:
  • Experience in the maintenance of buildings and fixtures and some construction experience.
  • Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
  • Police Check
  • Open Manual Driver's with an LR (light rigid) or higher License – desirable
