Resident Storage Engineer

Job Summary:

Green Light Worldwide is seeking a highly skilled Resident Storage Engineer to join our team in Brisbane. As a key member of our IT infrastructure team, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Dell ECS storage infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Storage Infrastructure Management:
    • Monitor and track Dell ECS capacity utilization
    • Create directories and shares on Dell Isilon clusters
    • Modify share and ACL permissions for Dell Isilon shares and directories
    • Track file moves and deletions using audit logs
    • Migrate datasets between Dell Isilon clusters
    • Migrate remote Windows file servers to Dell Isilon clusters using emcopy
    • Install and configure Superna hosts for Ransomware Defender
    • Configure or create VLANs on Dell switches
  • Administration:
    • Monitor, review, and manage Dell infrastructure
    • Manage user requests
    • Manage and review log files
    • Generate regular operational reports
  • Problem Management:
    • Isolate and troubleshoot incidents
    • Perform service incident coordination
    • Open service requests on behalf of the customer
    • Participate in root cause analysis review
  • Change Management:
    • Perform software and firmware management assistance and collaboration
    • Implement change management requests
    • Assist with solution documentation of policies and procedures in conjunction with the compliance manager and other key stakeholders
    • Manage migration activities (monitor reports)
  • Continual Service Improvement:
    • Recommend procedure changes that result in operational optimization
    • Share best practices from other engagements
    • Provide performance-tuning recommendations
  • Post Implementation Planning and Knowledge Sharing:
    • Perform transition planning with deployment team
    • Conduct knowledge transfer for new technology features, management, and admin activities, and Standard Operating Procedures
    • Provide recommendations on product enhancements and upgrades
    • Set up initial reports on supported products
    • Implement Dell System Management Tools
    • Perform run-book updates (in conjunction with Customer Staff)

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Dell ECS and Isilon storage infrastructure
  • Experience with storage infrastructure management and administration
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
