About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Electrician to join our team at Penske Australia. As a Commissioning Electrician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Power Generation systems, including Battery Energy Storage Systems, large Diesel and Gas Generators, and Rotary UPS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and complete various jobs on Energy Solutions products, including directing subcontractors.
  • Assemble, factory-test, diagnose, repair, install, commission, and service our Energy Solutions products, with a focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems, large Diesel and Gas Generators, and Rotary UPS, including their control and auxiliary systems.
  • Work closely with customers, consultants, partners, and internal teams to ensure we deliver to the highest standard of customer satisfaction.
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities, complete commissioning and test documentation to ensure a smooth handover.
Requirements
  • Trade qualification – Cert III in Electrotechnology and Full Electrical Licence.
  • Prior experience with electrical diagnostics, fault-finding, modifications, and the installation and commissioning of complex mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Sound knowledge of power- and their auxiliary systems, controls, instrumentation, and switchgear. Experience with microgrids, renewable energy, or storage systems is a plus.
  • A background in Power Generation applications is preferred, but training is available for the right candidate.
  • Easily work independently, but just as happy working in a team.
  • Have effective communication and teamwork skills, and actively promote Penske's values and purpose.
