Job Description:

The Safety Health Business Partner plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive health and safety culture within an organization. This individual is responsible for developing people's capabilities to achieve desired outcomes in their designated portfolio.

Working collaboratively with business partners across various departments, the Safety Health Business Partner provides guidance, advice, and support to managers and employees under the direction of the SHAW Manager.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conducting site safety audits and developing corrective action plans in collaboration with managers and employees.
  • Promoting the Health and Safety Representative role, coaching, and building the capacity of HSRs in assigned portfolios.
  • Providing advice and support on injury management and workers' compensation to staff and managers.
  • Liaising with stakeholders, including insurers, brokers, medical practitioners, and injured workers, to ensure effective claim management.
  • Maintaining and analyzing data on hazards, incidents, and other performance indicators to inform strategic improvements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should possess:

  • Relevant qualifications in work health and safety, preferably with experience in the healthcare sector.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including effective communication, coaching, and influencing abilities.
  • A minimum Cert IV in Work Health and Safety.
  • Evidence of COVID-19 and current flu vaccinations, as per company policies.
  • The ability to obtain a National Police Clearance within six months of employment.
