Job Description

The University of New South Wales is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Communications Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional to play a key role in developing and disseminating strategic communications to external audiences.

About the Role

This role involves developing and implementing effective external communications strategies that showcase the university's achievements and enhance its reputation. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Australian media landscape, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic external communications plans to promote the university's achievements and enhance its reputation
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media, industry partners, and other external audiences
  • Develop high-quality content for various channels, including social media, press releases, and other external communications materials
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and brand positioning across all communications channels
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of external communications initiatives and provide recommendations for improvement
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification and a depth of subsequent relevant experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination of education, training and experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style to different audiences and channels
  • A strong understanding of the Australian media landscape and experience working with external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective communications strategies that drive results
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Advanced level of computer literacy and proficiency in using social media and other digital tools
