First Nations Engagement Officer

We are seeking a motivated professional to join our team as a First Nations Engagement Officer. This role will play a critical part in strengthening relationships and trust between the University of Southern Queensland and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to promote UniSQ as a provider of choice for First Nations peoples in higher education.
- Build and maintain relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, organisations, and stakeholders to enhance cultural safety and inclusion.
- Plan and deliver events, programs, and initiatives that support engagement with First Nations communities and promote cultural understanding.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and societies, as well as excellent communication and organisational skills.
This is an identified position and is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. For this position, it is a genuine occupational requirement that it be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person as permitted under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld).
