Job Summary:

Safety Expert

We are seeking an experienced Safety Expert to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and health of workers in Queensland's coal mining industry.

Your primary focus will be on regulating worker safety and health, providing expert advice to government, industry stakeholders, and the community. You will also be responsible for representing our organization at meetings and forums, and preparing timely and accurate correspondence and ministerial briefings.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Providing executive leadership to the Coal Mines Inspectorate, driving regulatory capability and effectiveness.
  • Maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders to promote safety and health outcomes.
  • Representing our organization at meetings and forums, and preparing timely and accurate correspondence and ministerial briefings.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and a QLD or NSW First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency.
  • Substantial knowledge of and experience in coal mining or a similar industry in senior leadership and operational roles.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills, with the ability to maintain and develop relationships across organisational boundaries.
