The RoleWe are seeking an experienced professional to lead our external communications strategy. The successful candidate will work closely with a high-level team to deliver engaging communications that build trust and confidence with customers, stakeholders, and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a range of external communication projects, prioritizing alignment to business objectives and delivery.
- Provide expert advice on effective customer communications to strategic leaders, internal business partners, and project owners.
- Build trusted relationships between TasWater and media outlets.
- Identify and respond to emerging media opportunities and risks.
- Write and edit communications materials, including media releases, editorials, fact sheets, backgrounding documents, and Q&As for spokespersons.
- Coordinate media events and alerts.
- Formal qualifications in media, communications, public relations, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Demonstrated experience in external communications within a complex organization.
- Demonstrated understanding of Tasmanian media outlets and the political landscape.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, adapting our tone of voice and style for different audiences.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, building rapport across a wide range of stakeholders.
