Job Description:

As a Geriatric Medicine Specialist, you will provide expert inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth care, including GEM units, Orthogeriatrics, RACF outreach, and specialist clinics. You will also deliver medical leadership as Clinical Lead, supporting advanced trainees, registrars, and junior doctors.

You will partner with the Clinical Director to drive service innovation, including Geri-Connect, and the new RADAR (Rapid Assessment of the Deteriorating Aged at Risk) service. Your role will involve playing a key part in education, clinical governance, and workforce development. Above all, you must commit to innovative, patient-centered models of care.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A qualified medical practitioner registered (or eligible for registration) as a Specialist in Geriatric Medicine with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Geriatric Medicine, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
  • Proven 7+ years of clinical experience as a Geriatric Medicine Specialist, with demonstrated capacity to manage clinical, non-clinical, and managerial responsibilities.
