Aged Care Clinical Nurse Consultant Role

The position of Aged Care Clinical Nurse Consultant is crucial in providing expert advice and leadership in the field of aged care. This role requires a registered nurse with a minimum of five years of full-time postgraduate experience and an approved postgraduate qualification or evidence of working towards a Master's level.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating comprehensive hospital avoidance strategies to provide optimal care for people aged 70 and over within Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs) and the community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Formulating and implementing policy
  • Guiding practice development
  • Engaging in education and research activities

In addition, the CNC will provide clinical supervision to nursing staff, act as a role model, and provide nursing care on a regular basis.

To be eligible for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Registered with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
  • Minimum five years of full-time postgraduate experience with three years of full-time equivalent experience in the specialty field
  • Approved postgraduate qualification or evidence of working towards a Master's level
