About the Role

Maintenance Superintendent Job Opportunity

This is a leadership position responsible for overseeing maintenance operations and driving a strong preventative maintenance culture within our fixed plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion the implementation of a proactive maintenance strategy that focuses on asset longevity and reliability.
  • Ensure all equipment are operating safely and efficiently, with a strong focus on compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Develop and oversee asset management plans, including rebuilds, major inspections, and lifecycle strategies.
  • Manage consumables to optimize usage and minimize unnecessary costs or waste.
  • Ensure critical components and spares are managed effectively to minimize plant downtime.
  • Monitor and action findings from condition monitoring, with a strong focus on timely resolution.
  • Conduct regular health checks using industry methodologies, ensuring proactive maintenance and compliance.
  • Manage contractor performance, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with expectations.
  • Track and control maintenance costs, ensuring alignment with targets.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure scheduled maintenance procedures are followed.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance planning, plant performance, and safety.
  • Identify and deliver on opportunities related to plant performance, maintenance practices, and commissioning of new equipment.
Requirements
  • Relevant trade qualification (e.g., Fitter, Mechanic, Boilermaker)
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a fixed plant maintenance environment (quarry, mining, or heavy industry preferred)
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Working knowledge of CMMS or similar systems
  • Strong understanding of safety systems, risk management, and Zero Harm principles
  • Working at Heights, EWP licence, and manual driver's licence
  • A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with a passion for troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Strong team leadership, planning, and interpersonal skills to engage with both internal teams and external contractors
