About the Role

McConnell Dowell is seeking a skilled Welding and Coating Inspector to join our project team on a critical infrastructure project in the Northern Territory.

This role plays a vital part in ensuring the successful delivery of the project, which requires a high level of quality and safety in welding and coating activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the quality and safety of welding and coating activities
  • Inspect and assess the strength and quality of completed welds
  • Ensure the correct equipment and materials are used for welding
  • Check welding and coating specifications
  • Verify adherence to safety regulations
  • Suggest alternative welding techniques as needed
About You
  • Hold a CSWIP certification or equivalent
  • Have a trade or relevant engineering degree
  • Have advanced knowledge and understanding of welding and NDT activities
  • Have excellent technical knowledge of welding and materials
  • Be committed to maintaining a safe working environment
  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Be willing to work on a fly-in-fly-out basis
