About the Role

McConnell Dowell Constructors is seeking a highly skilled Welding and Coating Inspector to join our project team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the quality and safety of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the quality and safety of welding and coating activities
  • Inspect and assess the strength and quality of completed welds
  • Ensure the correct equipment and materials are being used for welding
  • Verify welding specifications
  • Verify coating specifications
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations
  • Suggest alternative welding techniques as needed

About You

  • CSWIP or equivalent certification is required
  • Trade or relevant engineering degree
  • Advanced understanding and knowledge of welding and NDT activities
  • Excellent technical knowledge of welding and materials
  • Strong commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
  • Excellent working knowledge of Australian and international standards and codes
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Experience or willingness to work on a fly-in-fly-out basis
