Job Summary

The Senior Business Solutions Consultant will play a key role in supporting the delivery of projects and leading the coordination of software and system changes in the Commercial Airline Technology team. This position requires a skilled individual who can elicit and document requirements, analyze and design solutions, coordinate with technical delivery/development teams and vendors, validate and test changes, manage software and organizational changes through to completion, and plan and execute implementation/cutover activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate delivery of software changes and releases, preparing delivery and implementation plans for projects and initiatives, and coordinating business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors as per the delivery plan.
  • Support delivery of major projects involving Commercial Airline Technology, providing business analysis support and consulting advice throughout the duration of the project, and managing application configurations as part of delivery.
  • Deliver BA outcomes under agreed governance standards, delivery methodologies, work practices, systems, and tools, applying best practice BA methodologies to support the delivery of implementation projects and system changes.
  • Facilitate meetings with internal/external stakeholders to communicate updates and drive project outcomes, appropriately escalating to senior management issues impacting the delivery of application changes.
  • Transition projects and system changes to operational teams using the agreed handover process, including quality documentation.
  • Work with stakeholder groups to obtain engagement feedback to measure project/program effectiveness.
Requirements Analysis
  • Elicit business and system requirements and liaise with vendors and technical delivery teams, acting as the conduit between business and technical teams to ensure the right solution is delivered.
  • Ensure detailed business and functional requirements are clearly and accurately documented, clearly and simply articulating business requirements from a business perspective, while also producing functional documentation that provides sufficient detail.
  • Review and validate high-level processes, systems, and reporting to ensure full coverage of requirements, conducting gap analysis between current processes and future state processes.
Solutions Design
  • Review requirements and provide recommendations regarding software solutions, working with product owners, architecture team, and vendors to design and document solutions that meet business requirements, ensuring the solution is in accordance with Jetstar IT standards.
  • Obtain key inputs from stakeholders, SMEs, and architecture teams and identify solution interdependencies, ensuring dependencies and constraints from other inflight initiatives are identified and highlighted.
  • Participate in design reviews and walk-throughs to communicate system designs and validate proposed solutions.
Quality Assurance and Testing
  • Define testing scope and work with users and testing teams to complete testing (e.g., UAT).
  • Support Testing and Quality Assurance through documentation of testable requirements and execution of testing, ensuring configuration and changes of applications implemented match their intended design and comply with IT architectural standards.
Change Management
  • Evaluate planned system and software changes to minimize risk and operational issues, developing, reviewing, and documenting change management inputs, including business impact assessments, training and communication needs, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure changes are documented and aligned with Jetstar and IT Change Management processes, ensuring changes also meet compliance requirements, e.g., PCI, PI, and cybersecurity.
  • Communicate the change to internal and external stakeholders.
Process & Documentation
  • Document existing and new processes as required, promoting standard operating procedures and following delivery framework to ensure consistent delivery experience.
  • Update and maintain the team's knowledge base and delivery templates.
Systems Support & Operations
  • Provide additional support to the systems support team (BAU) when needed, analyzing system issues and coordinating resources and suppliers to resolve them within agreed SLAs.
  • Serve as an escalation point if required due to resource constraints from the Systems Support team, assisting in coordinating support of tier 1 applications with major operational and commercial impacts when required.
  • Provide user support (including 24*7 on-call roster).
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in business/information technology.
  • Microsoft Office application proficient.
  • PMP or Prince2 certification and/or Lean/Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst (preferably in the Technology field).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Delivery or Implementation role (preferably in the Technology field).
  • Experience working on and delivering successful outcomes in large-scale IT project initiatives.
  • Experience working in the aviation and travel industry (preferred).
  • Experience with working within a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills.
