The role of the Activity Officer - Welfare and Engagement Specialist is to develop, manage, and deliver structured programs and activities for detainees. These may include educational, sporting, recreational, spiritual, and leisure activities tailored to their interests, skills, and needs.

  • ">
  • A relevant Certificate III or Diploma level qualification in a field such as social work, community services, counselling, learning and development, education, or a related field;">
  • Qualification or extensive experience in therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Trauma-informed Practice, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, Mindfulness, Art Therapy, Sports Science, or a relevant/related field;">
  • Minimum of 2 years' (full-time equivalent) experience managing and conducting structured programs and activities for adults or families;">
  • Experience working with people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) and different religious backgrounds;">
  • Understanding of risk management principles;">
  • Current Australian Federal Police Clearance;">
  • Working with Children Certificate in accordance with the relevant state or territory child protection legislation;">
  • National Police Check (AFP);">
  • HLTAID009 Provide CPR and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificates with at least 6 months of currency on the certificate; and">
  • Unrestricted current Drivers Licence.">
