Forensic medical professionals play a vital role in providing quality care to individuals who have experienced sexual violence. The successful candidate will join a dynamic service, working closely with medical and psychosocial colleagues to deliver high-standard clinical forensic services.

The position requires a strong commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management. This includes the ability to adapt practice in accordance with contemporary evidence-based best practice and participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide forensic medical examinations and general medical examinations to children, young people, and adult victims of sexual assault.
  • Comply with policies and procedures for the service and district, ensuring seamless integration with Ministry of Health information systems.
  1. Requirements:
  2. Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
  3. Demonstrated expertise in clinical practice, with the ability to remain up-to-date with contemporary evidence-based best practice.
  4. A strong commitment to quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management.
  5. Participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  6. Commitment to ongoing professional development and self-education.
  7. Ability to work effectively within on-call rosters and contribute to the local community through provision of services.
