Statewide Training Role

The role of Statewide Trainer focuses on delivering evidence-based training programs and resources across NSW Health services.

This position entails the development, delivery, and evaluation of statewide training initiatives to enhance workforce capacity in addressing violence, abuse, and neglect.

The trainer assesses the needs of NSW Health workforces in relation to adult and child sexual assault, child abuse, and domestic and family violence.

The role also involves collaborating in the development and delivery of programs focusing on children under ten with problematic harmful sexual behaviours.

A key aspect of this position is providing support and input into ECAV's Medical & Forensic management of violence, abuse, and neglect training programs.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Develop and deliver statewide training programs on violence, abuse, and neglect to NSW Health workers.
  2. Assess workforce capacity and training needs in relation to adult and child sexual assault, child abuse, and domestic and family violence.
  3. Collaborate in the development and delivery of programs focusing on children under ten with problematic harmful sexual behaviours.
  4. Provide support and input into ECAV's Medical & Forensic management of violence, abuse, and neglect training programs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications including Behavioural Science, Social Work, Psychology or equivalent.
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or willingness to work towards this qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience working in NSW Health VAN services and/or related services providing responses to children, young people, adults, and families who have experienced violence, abuse, and neglect.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cultural competency and applying culturally safe practices in the workplace.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
