Electrical Inspector (Engineering)

The Electrical Inspector (Engineering) role is responsible for providing advanced technical information, advice, education, and compliance services to contribute to the prevention of electrical hazards in the workplace.

As a member of our specialist team, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing expert advice on safe work practices and legislative compliance related to electrical engineering
  • Collaborating with industry stakeholders to develop and implement strategic initiatives to prevent electrical hazards
  • Conducting workplace visits and investigations into electrical-related incidents and fatalities
  • Providing guidance and support to industry, workers, and other government agencies on electrical engineering discipline matters
  • Managing complex technical issues while ensuring stakeholder interests are balanced and WHS outcomes are achieved

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or similar technical qualifications
  • Relevant industry experience in electrical system planning, design, or management; forensic engineering; functional safety; hazardous plant and equipment design or management; electro-mechanics; electrical infrastructure; electrical construction design; or electrical safety
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in providing specialist advice and leadership regarding compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and electrical engineering codes of practice
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to manage complex technical issues
