The Infection Prevention and Control Specialist will lead infection prevention and control activities for a team of dedicated Aged Care Employees across the Illawarra region.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement Infection Prevention and Control protocols across all Aged Care Centres within the region, serving as a primary point of contact and guidance.
- Provide clinical expertise and mentorship to staff, fostering a culture of excellence in infection prevention practices.
- Conduct regular reviews of current practice, formulate improvement recommendations, and collaborate with local care management teams for implementation.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and Outbreak Management Plans, ensuring alignment with legislation and best practice guidelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
This role requires a sound understanding of infection prevention and control principles, with the ability to interpret Infection Control and Waste Management Standards and develop related policies and procedures. The successful candidate will possess high-level written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Benefits:
This is a full-time position working across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse with substantial post-basic experience in nursing, preferably with completed ICC training COVID-19 infection control online training modules.
