Lead Android Developer Opportunity

Are you an accomplished software engineer looking to take on new challenges and spearhead the development of cutting-edge Android applications?

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Android Engineer to lead our team in crafting robust, scalable, and optimized native Android apps that bring innovative healthcare functionalities to clinicians.

This role will involve architecting and building Heidi's Android app from the ground up, ensuring seamless integration with our existing ecosystem and adherence to industry-leading standards for performance, reliability, and security.

The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of native Android APIs, experience with Kotlin, and expertise in integrating machine learning models using TensorFlow Lite or ML Kit for real-time image analysis or clinical decision support.

Additionally, this leader will manage the full Android development lifecycle, including setting up CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and optimizing for various device configurations while ensuring compliance with essential healthcare regulations.

Experience with Compose and other Jetpack libraries is highly desirable, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to the growth and success of our mobile development efforts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Android strategy that aligns with our business goals and technical vision.
  • Collaborate closely with our iOS engineers to ensure seamless cross-platform collaboration, knowledge sharing, and consistency.
  • Architect and develop high-quality Android applications that meet and exceed user expectations.
  • Integrate machine learning models to deliver real-time AI features and enhance user experiences.
  • Work collaboratively with design and product teams to craft intuitive, pixel-perfect UIs that meet our high standards.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Android development, with a strong focus on Kotlin and native Android APIs.
  • Deep understanding of modern architectural patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture) and experience with Compose and other Jetpack libraries.
  • Experience with machine learning models, particularly TensorFlow Lite or similar, is a significant advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with RESTful API integrations, offline storage, and performance tuning is highly desirable.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
