About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team as a Cook. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play an active part in creating healthy menus for children of all ages.

You'll have access to a national network of centre cooks who regularly share recipes, questions, ideas and tips to help you grow and develop your skills.

As a passionate advocate for healthy food, you'll be encouraged to utilise the amazing feed Australia program – a free program enabling cooks to plan, budget and access healthy menus to enable children's growth and development while in child care.

  • Prepare, implement and evaluate the nutritional content of menus
  • Experienced in bulk meal preparation, online ordering, stock management and budget control
  • Able to cater for individual child requirements including allergies, specific dietary requirements and needs

 

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in the planning, preparation and presentation of nutritious meals
  2. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless day-to-day operations
  3. Contribute to the continuous improvement of menu items and kitchen practices

 

Requirements:

We are seeking an efficient and capable cook who:

  • Has a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
  • Has experience in an early childhood setting
  • Is able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Can provide evidence of current Food Safety and Handlers (Health and Community) Certificate
  • Has a reliable vehicle for transportation to and from the centre
