About the Role

The Service Lead Community and Sector Engagement is a senior position that oversees the day-to-day operational management of Community Playgroup, CALD Outreach Worker, and Early Years Community Connectors functions within the Family & Sector Partnerships Unit.

This role will provide leadership support to staff within the team, strategic guidance across service sectors to increase access and participation in both Council and community services.

The successful candidate will manage financial responsibilities for the teams and ensure the work aligns to Council's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the operational management of Community Playgroup, CALD Outreach Worker, and Early Years Community Connectors functions.
  • Provide leadership support to staff within the team.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase access and participation in both Council and community services.
  • Manage financial responsibilities for the teams.
  • Evaluate and report on the performance of the teams.
Requirements
  • A degree or graduate diploma in Community Development, Early Years, or a relevant Human Service with several years of subsequent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying local needs for broad planning and policy development.
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning, leadership, management, and delivery of children's and family services.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills coupled with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong experience in financial management, business planning, and the monitoring of services.
  • A Current employee Working with Children Check.
