About the Clinical Nurse Consultant - Diabetes Role

This position is a vital part of our nursing team at Northern Beaches Hospital, providing clinical leadership and expertise in diabetes care. As a Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients with diabetes, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement evidence-based care plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert clinical advice and guidance to patients, healthcare professionals, and carers
  • Developing and implementing care plans that meet the needs of patients with diabetes
  • Leading the development of clinical policies and procedures related to diabetes care
  • Collaborating with the medical team to ensure effective care planning and coordination
  • Providing education and training to nursing and allied health staff on diabetes care and management

Requirements:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent, and a postgraduate qualification in critical care
  • At least 5 years of full-time post-registration experience, with at least 3 years' experience in critical care

  • Research experience
  • Experience working in the private health system
