Bakery Career Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Baker to join our team at a leading bakery in Australia.

As a Baker, you will be responsible for the preparation and production of high-quality bakery products. You will ensure that bread quality and range meet customer demands and are delivered in a timely manner.

You will work closely with the team to maintain effective relationships and provide excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have good numeracy and literacy skills, a sound knowledge of food handling and food safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be available to work a flexible roster, including evenings and public holidays. Previous experience in a similar bakery environment would be an advantage.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and production of high-quality bakery products.
  • Maintaining effective relationships with team members.
  • Ensuring bread quality and range meet customer demands.
  • Operating machines and tools to prepare bakery products.
  • Decorating cakes with glazes, icings, buttercream, and edible toppings.
  • Preparing pastry fillings.
  • Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning, and cooling of batches of bread, rolls, and pastry products.
  • Glazing buns and pastries.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of machines, tools, and premises.
  • Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times.

Selection Criteria:

  • Availability to work across 7 days of the week, including evening work and some public holidays.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and communicate with customers and staff.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to complete duties as directed by your manager/supervisor.
  • A commitment to maintaining an effective relationship with all team members.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Sound knowledge of food handling and food safety.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
