Tax Professional

Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance across jurisdictions and delivering strategic tax advice to our leadership and teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare income tax returns and tax effect accounting calculations, with a focus on jurisdictional requirements.
  • Prepare and lodge monthly GST and Withholding Tax returns for various regions.
  • Manage and lodge Tax Clearance Certificate applications to facilitate foreign currency payments.
  • E nsure accurate and up-to-date records of tax statements and balances with relevant authorities.
  • Review commercial contracts for tax implications, including applicable withholding taxes.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with key contacts at regulatory bodies; travel may be required.
  • Provide tax advice to the business on technical matters, including income tax, GST, withholding taxes, customs and excise duties, and employment taxes.
  • Design and deliver Tax training to the business as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners to achieve business objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with amendments to tax laws and assist in implementing strategies to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with tax audits and reviews as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Commerce, Business, or related field.
  • Member of a recognized accounting or taxation body (CAANZ, CPA, or equivalent).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in tax, either in public practice or corporate environments.
  • Hands-on experience with computerized accounting systems, preferably Pronto software.
  • Prior exposure to jurisdictional taxation an advantage.
