Cancer Care Specialist

We are seeking a Cancer Care Specialist to join our team at our Moreton Bay Specialist Medical Centre.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oncology and the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities include clinically reviewing patients and their oncology protocols, dispensing medications, completing medication reconciliation processes, actively participating in research and clinical trials, and assisting with stock and inventory management.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong background in oncology pharmacy practice.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient focus with the ability to provide education and counselling to patients.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Clinically review patients and their oncology protocols.
  2. Dispense medications.
  3. Complete medication reconciliation processes.
  4. Actively participate in research and clinical trials.
  5. Assist with stock and inventory management.
  6. Compound aseptic cytotoxic and non-cytotoxic products in a pharmaceutical isolator.
  7. Provide education and counselling to patients.
  8. Assist in coordinating clinical trials and compassionate access programs.
  9. Contribute to the Oncology AMS program.
  10. Attend Site Selection Visits (SSVs) and Site Initiation Visits (SIVs).
  11. Read, understand and review clinical trial protocols relating to investigational product (IP) compounding, IP accountability, standard operating procedures, and reporting of the pharmacy's role in clinical trials.
  12. Participate in quality assurance activities.
