Cancer Care Specialist


About the Role

This position is responsible for providing specialized cancer care services to patients. The role involves working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the development and implementation of treatment plans, and ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in oncology pharmacy, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Clinically review patients and their oncology protocols.
  • Dispense medications and ensure compliance with PBS regulations.
  • Complete medication reconciliation processes and compound aseptic cytotoxic and non-cytotoxic products.
  • Participate in research and clinical trials, and contribute to the Oncology AMS program.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with oncologists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to achieve quality and safety goals.

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy or higher.
  • Current registration as a registered Pharmacist with AHPRA and the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
  • Professional indemnity insurance and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Oncology/hospital pharmacy experience and a strong understanding of cancer treatment options.
