Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety and Compliance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a safety culture across all operations and maintenance activities.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Influencing and engaging with senior management and employees to enhance the safety culture
  • Leading and managing development, implementation and ongoing review of safety strategies, policies, procedures and plans
  • Overseeing and ensuring consistency of and continuous improvement of all safety systems and practices
  • Ensuring compliance with all legal and statutory authorities, including quality and environmental ISO requirements
  • Carrying out internal audits and measurement of safety performance
  • Ensuring all rail safety risks across the business are identified, incorporated into safety risk registers and appropriately controlled
  • Managing rail safety reporting functions
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Safety, or a related discipline
  • Extensive experience in a senior safety role, preferably with rail safety knowledge
  • Prior experience in an organization with similar compliance requirements
  • Strong client relationship and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lead high-level investigations involving multiple parties
  • Proven experience in auditing, identifying and reporting non-conformances
  • ICAM trained, qualified Lead Auditor, and possession of a Construction White Card
  • Must have or be willing to undergo a Rail Safety Medical Category 1 Assessment
