Job Description">

As a Clinical Neuropsychologist, you will be working with children, young people and their families who are experiencing complex or moderate to severe mental health problems. This is a specialized role within the Bankstown infant Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (ICAMHS) team.

This position involves conducting neuropsychological assessments of patients/consumers with a wide range of disorders/diseases with potential cognitive and/or behavioural implications. The aim is to assist with clinical management, determine specific competencies or facilitate discharge planning.

The role also participates in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assists in the development and provision of education and training programs. Additionally, the role supervises Psychologists and other disciplines working within the LHD according to organizational needs.

">Required Skills and Qualifications">
  • Fulfill registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Complete an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate Clinical Neuropsychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognized equivalent.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of psychological issues that can arise with inpatients and/or outpatients (including community consumers as per service), presenting for neuropsychological assessment and where necessary, appropriate onward referral for management.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the quality improvement process for service development, implementation and evaluation.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team with a high level of autonomy, self motivation, and organisational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer literacy.
  • Supervision experience of interns completing post qualification studies in Clinical Neuropsychology if appropriate to level of experience.
