Young Parents Programme Support Specialist

The Young Parents Program provides a strengths-based early intervention approach to support young parents live independently in appropriate housing and develop parenting and life skills.
This role is responsible for supporting young parents aged 13-19yrs (residential) and 13-24yrs (outreach), and their children to work towards their case plan goals. The Case Manager will provide integrated, individualised case management, behaviour support and direct parenting and emotional support to ensure best possible outcomes for children.
Key Responsibilities:- Assessing client needs and developing case plans
- Providing practical and emotional support to families, including the development of life and parenting skills
- Working competently with staff and clients from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Understanding adolescent development and best practice working with young women and men with complex needs and behaviours
- Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders and partners
- Relevant degree in social work, social welfare or psychology
- Proven experience in casework/ case management
- A Working with Children Check and current Australian Drivers Licence
