Job Title: Peer Support Worker

 

About the Role:

The Salvation Army is seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Peer Support Worker. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness and mental health issues.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and hope for recovery to clients in the program.
  • Work alongside case managers to provide comprehensive support services.
  • Maintain regular communication with team members and establish professional relationships with residents.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents that impact on resident safety and security.

 

Requirements:

  • Lived experience of mental health and/or homelessness.
  • Experience in supporting people who are struggling with mental health and/or homelessness.
  • Skills in co-facilitation of groups.
  • A National Police Record check and a NT Working with Children Ochre Card check are required prior to commencement.
  • A current NT driver's license and a Certificate of Full Vaccination status for Covid-19.
