Warehouse Operations Manager

We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of our Launceston Distribution Hub, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient daily operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site distribution, warehouse operations, truck and forklift fleet, suppliers, property, and inventory control to meet performance targets while ensuring high levels of environmental health and safety compliance.

Safety is paramount in this role, and the successful candidate will champion safety and wellbeing, ensuring compliance with legislation, company policies, and international standards.

  • Operational Excellence: Manage site distribution, warehouse operations, truck and forklift fleet, suppliers, property, and inventory control to meet performance targets while ensuring high levels of environmental health and safety compliance.
  • Safety Leadership: Champion safety and wellbeing, ensuring compliance with legislation, company policies, and international standards.
  • Team Management: Lead, coach, and mentor your team, driving people development, succession planning, and employee engagement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive site and process improvement projects using our Supply Chain Excellence Framework and adopt new technologies to maintain industry-leading service standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with regional services manager, broader supply chain, customer service, and local sales representatives to meet service commitments.
Requirements

We are looking for someone with proven experience managing and coaching staff within a warehouse environment (minimum 2 years' exp. as a warehouse manager).

  • Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of small to medium warehousing and distribution environments
  • LF Forklift Licence – highly desirable
  • MR or HR Truck Licence – highly desirable
  • Ability to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience managing EHS and COR in line with policy and legislation
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and a customer-first approach
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently
