Production Supervisor Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team on a casual or permanent basis. As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of production staff and ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Directly manage all shift activities, including safety, cost, efficiency, and quality.
  • Engage and develop the shift team through coaching, performance management, and skills development.
  • Maintain shift compliance with operating standards, safety standards, company policies, quality specifications, regulatory requirements, and Lean Manufacturing practices.
  • Monitor plant performance, quality, and costs.
  • Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving for the team when out of standard conditions arise.
  • Communicate effectively with the team, operations manager, and technical support functions for daily operational and breakdown issues.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules and assign repair tasks as needed.
  • Effectively complete all administrative tasks for the shift and other assigned administration for the plant.
  • Lead the shift in the development and implementation of areas for improvement.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to other team members wherever possible.
Requirements:
  • Strong supervisory experience with mechanical aptitude, preferably along with a relevant Engineering or Trade Qualification.
  • 5+ years prior experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing Certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Production management leadership experience.
  • Ability to lead and motivate the team while working alongside them.
  • Strong focus on safety and ability to apply methodologies to improve processes.
  • Results-driven.
  • Experience operating and maintaining new machinery and with HMI interfaces.
  • Experience leading a team in troubleshooting and resolving problems to the root cause.
  • Exposure to automation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Can work and participate effectively in a team environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with a degree of flexibility.
  • A commitment to quality.
