We are looking for a Head of Production for our latest facility.
Role Overview
As a key member of the Site Leadership team, you will report directly to the Site Manager and hold full responsibility for the operations division of this facility across multiple shifts, including 24/5 and 24/7 operations. In your capacity as Head of Production, you will be supported by Safety, Maintenance, HR, and Quality teams, and will oversee daily operational tasks while facilitating initiatives that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of site operations.
The Head of Production is tasked with formulating and implementing strategies for site operations to meet established business objectives.
As an engaging and natural leader, you will manage the overall performance of end-to-end operations, producing approximately 20,000 tonnes of recycled resin annually. The emphasis of this role at this Greenfields site is to cultivate a culture centered on Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence, striving to meet KPIs in the following areas:
Workplace Health and Safety (WHSE) Quality Assurance Leadership Development Timely Delivery Cost Management and Budgeting Employee EngagementAchieving these KPIs requires strong leadership, guidance, and resources for the Production team (including Shift Leads, Team Leaders, and Team Members). Collaborating with the Site Leadership team, the Head of Production will also align Continuous Improvement initiatives with the strategic objectives of the business, providing robust leadership to facilitate the implementation and maintenance of exceptional plant performance. This role involves close collaboration with all other business functions to achieve collective goals.
You will work in partnership with your peers to ensure:
The highest safety standards are upheld Manufacturing processes are maintained at the highest quality to meet customer needs and business objectives All products are produced on schedule and to specifications Productivity meets and continuously challenges established benchmarks A culture of Continuous Improvement is fostered Open, direct, and respectful communication is practiced throughout the site Close collaboration with Maintenance, Quality, and WHSE to achieve world-class standards and practicesAdditional responsibilities include:
Managing daily and weekly production schedules to optimize production efficiencies and Delivery in Full, On Time (DIFOT) Monitoring and reporting on operational KPIs and initiating corrective actions through continuous improvement efforts Developing the capabilities of the workforce to ensure long-term capacity to meet future demands Supporting the Site Manager in building and maintaining strong relationships with key client stakeholders, ensuring compliance with service delivery agreementsRequired Skills and Experience
A visible commitment to and demonstrated leadership in fostering a Zero Harm culture Relevant tertiary qualifications (Business/Science/Engineering or Manufacturing) preferred Proficient knowledge of SAP/MS Office suite Demonstrable experience in a similar role within the plastics and/or recycling sectors is advantageous A collaborative and enabling approach, with proven ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders (Customers, Suppliers, External bodies, and auditors) An unwavering focus on quality output that meets customer expectations Strong communication skills with a proven track record Experience in lean operations, including the application of Industry 4.0 technology, is a plus Relevant tertiary qualifications (Business/Science/Engineering or Manufacturing) preferredAdditional Information
